Taxicare Plus course

The course has three sections - Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each section has modules that cover everything from knowledge of Sydney to Customer Service through to Running a Small Business.

The Bronze level is the larger portion of the course. To pass this section you must complete the training and assessments at the school and pass the Skills and Knowledge Test at the Ministry of Transport. Click here to view and/or download a copy of the current Ministry of Transport test.

Once you pass the Bronze level you receive a probationary authority. This allows you to drive for up to twelve months. Before the authority expires you must complete the Silver level of the course. When you pass the Silver Level you receive a full authority. This part of the course of 2 one-day workshops and 2 half-day industry seminars. The first workshop is held approximately 2 months after you start driving and the second workshop is held at approximately 6 months.

The Gold level is optional and can be completed any time after you have attained the Silver level. When you have completed and passed all three sections you have attained a Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport). This is a nationally recognised certificate that is used in a variety of professions.

The time taken to complete the Bronze level will vary depending on

  • your previous experience
  • your knowledge of Sydney
  • how quickly you are able to absorb the information
  • how much time and effort you are able to spend on the training.

There are 15 x 2 1/2hr classroom sessions which are held daily.  Students are able to attend 2 classes every day during business hours or attend classes on a part time basis. The average student is able to complete the Bronze level in approximately 6 weeks.  The Bronze level must be completed within 6 months of enrolment.

You have full use of the school facilities and trainers during business hours for practise or assistance while doing the course.
